Pinecroft Parent and Teacher’s Organization Welcome Letter

 We thought a welcome letter would be a great way to introduce you to the Pinecroft experience.  Because it is an experience, it is more than just school. 

 While we’ve all come here for different reasons, we all leave with excitement about the experiences our children gain at Pinecroft.  What we like about Pinecroft is not really the great student teacher ratio; it is the opportunity to develop a love for learning and enthusiasm for growth – socially, as learners, as part of society.  We are confident that no matter the learning styles, our children will be well prepared to succeed in their future academic pursuits.

 
The Pinecroft Parent and Teacher’s Organization goal is to enhance the overall school experience, enriching activities through parental involvement, and building a strong community support network.  Some 2008-2009 school activities we’re proud of include:
 

• Animation Day – the students worked with one of the parents to develop their own animations which were put on video for everyone to enjoy.
• Sturbridge Village Field Trip – The PTO funded part of the all school field trip this year.
• Spring and Winter Program Hospitality – the spring and winter program hospitality is coordinated and provided for by parents.
• Moon Rocks – Pinecroft had its own NASA visit with moon rocks.
• Pizza Days – every Wednesday one of the parents picks up pizza and hands it out to students.  This is a great honor for those students whose parents come in.  And, it’s lots of fun for the parents too
• Mr. Bones the skeleton visited Pinecroft and students participated in  an anatomy quiz and day of trivia.
• Square 1 Art – children and parents worked together to create some fantastic individual art work based on a theme.  It was great fun to see the different creative approaches to a common goal.
